OUR STORY

Supporting people.

Strengthening whānau.

Every whānau’s journey is unique, but no one should have to navigate it alone.

For nearly 50 years, Pregnancy Help has provided free practical support, essentials, information and advice to anyone caring for tamariki throughout Aotearoa.

Every donated item is carefully prepared by volunteers and shared with another whānau, creating a cycle of generosity that strengthens communities, reduces waste and helps give every pēpi the best possible start.

Our Mahi

Pregnancy Help provides free practical support and advice to anyone caring for tamariki in Aotearoa.

Our services may include:

  • Baby clothing and newborn essentials
  • Bassinets and safe sleep support
  • Maternity clothing
  • Nappies and baby care items
  • Listening ear and connection
  • Information and referrals to other community services
  • Support tailored to local community needs

As community needs continue to evolve, we regularly review and adapt our services to ensure we are responding in meaningful, practical, and culturally inclusive ways.

A Brief History

Pregnancy Help was established in 1976, when a dedicated group of volunteers came together with a shared commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of whānau throughout Aotearoa.

Over the decades, Pregnancy Help has grown into a trusted community social service organisation supporting thousands of whānau across New Zealand. While the needs of families have changed significantly over time, our commitment to practical care, compassion, and community support has remained constant.

Today, our branches continue to respond to the unique needs of their local communities, developing services and programmes that help whānau and tamariki thrive.

We currently have six branches providing a wide range of support services throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
